Client

Rydal Hanbury

Brief

Rydal Hanbury, an artist based in St Albans, asked me to assist with the updating of her website due to an upcoming TV appearance that would increase traffic to her site. She wanted a simple, elegant, image focused site that showed more of her personality as an artist. As a self-confessed technophobe, she wanted to be empowered to continue making changes to her site confidently.

Deliverable

I updated the template of her existing site to a more modern, image-focused one, as well as making many changes in the back end to ensure quality (SVG logo format, updated Instagram connection, image upload processes). At every step of the process, I created tutorial videos for Rydal via Loom, so she could understand the process and do it for herself in the future! The outcome was a sleek, elegant, streamlined website with large images for users to enjoy the detail of.

Rydal has become a regular client of mine, and we work together to ensure her latest work is always front and centre on her website.

Client

Judith Moule

Brief

Judith Moule is also an artist based in St Albans, and became a client after a recommendation by Rydal. Judith had an existing website which had a few issues: an unorganised gallery section, pixelated images and poor SEO. Judith also wanted to have a contact in future who she could turn to for any future website updates.

Deliverable

Judith requested minor tweaks rather than a full website overhaul. After an initial consultation, we outlined her objectives: all images needed to be high resolution and clearly labelled with the painting name, the paintings needed to be separated into three categories for easier browsing, and the contact form needed updating to handle enquiries and commissions.

I implemented these changes, including back-end updates to plugins and themes and embedding her Instagram feed, improving the user experience and presentation of her work.
